Blaire Sussman, MFT

Blaire views the therapeutic process as the gateway to gaining a greater sense of self, relationships, and the systems that surround us. She believes that respecting lessons from the past and analyzing how our stories have shaped us can lead to desired change and new opportunities. She takes a collaborative and holistic approach that addresses the mind, body, and spirit to develop a treatment plan that includes learning new strategies to manage daily challenges and achieve long term goals.

Blaire is an Associate-level Marriage and Family Therapist with specialized training and experience working with clients who want to address unwanted behaviors, anxiety, depression, trauma, stage of life problems, grief counseling, LGBTQIA+ relationships and couples therapy. Blaire graduated from Long Island University with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and is motivated to continue evolving her practice and expertise in couples and relationships.

Blaire has experience working with both adults and adolescents on a broad range of life’s challenges: struggles in relationships, uncertain career paths, grief from losing a loved one, existential crises and conflicts, and general discontent. She has a passion for working with couples and provides support to help them better communicate and connect through the use of Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method. She is an active participant in the sessions, using mindfulness, solutions-based, and cognitive techniques to give her clients the tools they need to evolve in their journey and reach their goals.

Outside of the office you can find Blaire enjoying hikes with her dog, golfing, and enjoying the culture and cuisine of NYC and Brooklyn.
