MJ understands the power of therapy. Trained in Counseling Psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California, MJ has worked with couples, individuals, and families to help them flourish. Her background in communications, fine art, and media provide a unique lens into clients’ narratives.
With clinical experience in faith-crisis, depression, identity development, and LGBTQIA issues, MJ is skilled in working with clients from diverse economic, geographic, and racial backgrounds. She knows that holding space for intersectional identities allows the client to show up freely as themselves.
MJ strives to provide integrative therapy through strengths-based frameworks of proven approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She has additional training in Gottman Couples Therapy, Trauma-Informed Narrative Therapy, Restorative Justice, and Expressive Arts Modality Training. She also currently serves as the Treasurer for the NY Metro Chapter of AAMFT. As a Registered Associate Therapist, MJ is able to take sliding scale clients.
